I support following through with the proposed creation of legal cannabis industries such as dispensaries and manufacturing in the City of Chico..this issue has dragged on for too long and valuable tax dollars are going to our neighboring communities. Thank you for the time you've taken in research making our communities safe while allowing safe access to cannabis - especially during these anxious times..please vote YES on 4.2

This should not be voted on by the current City Council. There is less than three months till a new council will be voted in and it should be placed on the agenda in January. There is nothing urgent about this ordinance and the results could be a disaster for a city who prides itself on being a safe place to raise a family. Look at the mess the "needle distribution" has become and the number of transients that have flocked to the city because of it.

The City of Chico is facing unprecedented hardship as a result of the government mandated lockdowns. I am a private business owner who has been forced to close my doors and discontinue my practice for the foreseeable future. The city council has the opportunity to create a massive surge in jobs, industry and revenue under agenda item 4.2. I don’t see why there is any reason not to allow for this new industry to be adopted in Chico. We should waste no more time in creating new avenues for income-generating industry.

Furthermore, it’s only pot. Everybody smokes pot already in California. May as well tax the $ out if it and let people medicate a little bit. Times are sh*t right now and people should be allowed another vice that isn’t so damaging as alcohol, or that heroine and meth you can buy along Chico big creek

"It's only pot" - are you kidding me - it alters minds and initiative in those who smoke it. "Everyone smoke pot already in California" - where are the statistics to prove that? Chico needs the revenue is a totally bogus argument - get people and business back to work and the City will have the revenue it needs. Plus the small tax increase should have been allowed to be voted on - council has a majority of cowards!

I support agenda item 4.2. This is an opportunity for Chico to finally get on board with the rest of California. Cannabis is already legal in the state of California and it used to treat many medical and mental illnesses in a much safer way than prescription drugs. Having a dispensary in Chico will create job opportunities and the taxes on it could be used to help our city.
