For example, the conservative majority on the city council will appoint their friends to the Park Commission who will know nothing about the Park, except that they don't like the homeless encampments. Appointments to the 3 main commissions are important because they affect our quality of life: Planning Commission (affordable housing, homeless), Park Commission (park infrastructure, homeless), Climate Action Commission (climate change.)
